There are many types of genres people use to write books about. Every genre requires different techniques to make a novel worth reading. A specific type of genre that i am interested in is mystery. There are many ideas and techniques used to make a good mystery book. The first chapter in any mystery book should get you hooked so youll want to read on. Most mystery books mainly focus on something happening to the main character so you will care enough to keep reading to find out what happens to them. After the first chapter, you are usually hooked and then the story will begin to spill out suspense, doubt and deception clues throughout the novel to keep your mind guessing. Another technique mystery writters use to make a good book it to create characters that have traits relating to them, or ones you are familiar with. This helps because noone wants to relate to the bad guy in the book so then they can be as strange as the writter wants them to be. A caring bond should be developed between the main character and the reader. When getting into a mystery book the reader knows that everything is not going to be as it seems. There are always underlying facts that show up as the story unfolds. A really good mystery will absorb you in the emotions and intensity of the situation. When the reader gets close to the end, it should be bitter sweet. The end should make the reader feel anxious to find out the answers, but also not wanting the adventure to end. To not fool the reader but to make a surprising end, is a perfect way to end a mystery book.
Vicki Hinze is an good example of an author who uses alot of these techniques in her books. A specific book she wrote that i chose to use is called Forget Me Not. In this book Benjamin Brandt, the main character, started off with a content normal life, with his faith, his work, and his family owning a Crossroads Crisis Center. In a flash everything that he loved was snatched away. His wife and his son were murdered, causing Benjamin to loose all faith. He was determined to find the killer but after 3 years of the search he was giving up on himself and wanted to end his life as well. Now, a mysterious woman appears at Crossroads seeking answers and help. This is a victim who seems to resembles Ben’s dead wife, Susan. A woman robbed of her identity, her life, of everything except her faith. The connections between the Bens wife and the the other victim is an exceeding coincidence. To keep the truth a secret someone is willing to kill. Finding out who and why turns Ben and the mystery womans situation deadly. To survive they must work together, trust each other and face whatever they discover and keep going, no matter how painful it is. I choose this book as a good example because Vicki Hinze uses the technique to get you hooked to the book so you will want to keep reading. Suspense, doubt and deception is used alot in her story.

is causing this. . She may try too hard to showthis, and through out the worldbook she doesn’t know much about but it’s notfinds clues that lead to the killer. Olson uses the technique of chosing a serious offence. If you don’t know much about tattoosmain character to relate to many traits that people are farmiliar with. This helped so that the reader can picture in there mind what this character can actually be like.
Millions of mystery books use all different types of techniques to make the story worth reading. Using suspense, doubt and you’re intodeception clues is a great way to make the Ink TV, you’ll find it pretty good; if you are into tattoosnovel better. Vicki Hinze who wrote Forget Me Not, and have more than one tiny one, you’ll findKaren E. Olson who wrote, Pretty in Ink, are just two of the many mystery books that uses many of the techniques to make a good book. When i pick up a mystery book, it amusing at times but also showing youshould catch my eye in the first chapter, that way i will want to find out what happens next and i wont want to put it down. Towards the end of the book, the ending should be exciting and bittersweet. All of these days tattoos are mainstreamthings could make a perfect mystery book and ‘cool’ enoughi would deffientently want to write entertaining ‘pulp’ novels about them.keep reading.

Another example of an author who wrote an excellect mystery novel is Karen E. Olson. The name of the book she wrote is called Pretty in Ink. The main character, Brett Kavanaugh, a female tattoo artist, gets involved in a affair resulting in a death of one of her staff, this follows yet another one of her staffs dieing, from poison this time. Brett is determined to find out what is causing this. . She may try too hard to show the world she doesn’t know much about but it’s not a serious offence. I plan on writting about mystery and focusing on a specific book. Im going to explain what makes a good mystery book and how this book is a good example of a mystery book. The specific book im going to focus on is, Homicide My Own. Homicide My Own resides in that strange and fascinating land between mystery fiction and detective fiction. It's a story of two cops from Spokane, Washington, who are assigned a mission. They're to go to an Indian reservation on the Northwest coast and pick up a man who's being held for kidnapping a teenaged girl. One of the cops becomes obsessed with a decades-old murder, the only unsolved murder in the island's history, and he doesn't want to head back to Spokane until he's found some resolution. His partner, Quinn, the acid-tongued menopausal wife of a decent and boring pharmacist finds Odd's behavior rather amusing at first, but then finds it to be much more than amusing. Anne Argula wrote this book which makes most readers look at life and death in a new and uncharacteristic way.

To make a good mystery book, you should mainly focus on how to keep the reader from not wanting to put the book down. If i were to write a mystery book, i would do this by using alot of suspense. Suspense is a apprehension about what is going to happen. Using this would help carry the story into the next chapter so the reader would wonder what is happening next. Anna
